Application Process

How to apply to our ECE Programs: 

Parents may apply at the DSUSD District Educational Center, ECE Office located at 47-950 Dune Palms Road in La Quinta. The office is located in the south building.

  • Office staff will ask you basic questions to determine your ECE program eligibility.
    • Age of your child
    • Family size and gross income

  • Once it is determined which program is best suited for you, an application will be given to you to complete at home. If you qualify for Head Start, you will be asked to complete an Interest Form when you come to the office. This form provides general information to assist us as we enroll your child.

Head Start and CSPP registrations packets would be ready from April 2023 on.

A list of required documents is included in the application packet to bring in with your application. Required documents are:

•Child’s Birth Certificate

•For CSPP: Birth Certificates of siblings (under 18 years of age) living at home

•Medical Insurance Card, MediCal, etc.

•Physical Exam with laboratory results for Lead and Hemoglobin

•TB skin test with results on card, or waiver on physical form

•Child’s Immunization Record (yellow card) with the updated immunizations

•Income Verification Documents:

- Income Tax Report for previous year

- One month of the most recent and consecutive check stubs

- Unemployment check stubs, award letters or notice of action letters

•Proof of Address: light/gas bill indicating residency within our district
